Before and after marriage

Young women

Before marriage

Everyone tells you it will be the most beautiful day of your life. And what you mostly feel is an apprehension you speak about to no one.

Fear of intimacy. Tension rising in the body the moment you think about it. The worry of not being up to it. Or simply the sense that something in you closes, exactly when everything else is moving forward.

We take the time to understand what you are going through, and to let the body find room again, without rushing anything, at your pace, in a completely confidential setting.

I am a kallah teacher myself, and I have worked with young women before their wedding for twenty years. But that is not what I am doing here: in this room, I do not teach. I work with whatever is still holding on, in the body or in what you feel, alongside what you have already been taught, and without ever asking you to choose between the two.

After marriage

Moving into life as a couple is not only a new organisation. It is also a body that has to find its bearings, an intimacy that is learned, and sometimes a disappointment one does not dare speak about, not even to one's husband.

Whether the first months went differently than expected, whether apprehension or pain have settled in, or whether you simply feel far from yourself: there is a place to talk about it, without having to explain everything straight away.

Questions I am often asked

Do you see women for physical difficulties around intimacy?

Yes. Some women come to me because their body closes, because intercourse is painful or impossible, what medicine calls vaginismus, or because the wedding night did not go as they had imagined. This is not rare, it is not a fault, and it is not a sign that something is wrong with you. It can be worked with, and the body has its part in that work. I go at your pace, and alongside your doctor or gynaecologist where a medical opinion is useful.

Does what I say stay between us?

Entirely. I publish no testimonials, no photographs, and I speak to no one about the people I see. If you prefer, we can talk on the phone first, before any appointment.

Nothing you say will leave this room: not to your family, not to anyone around you.

If this is not the right place for you

There are situations I do not take on, and others where someone else will serve you better than I would. If that is the case, I will tell you at our first exchange and point you elsewhere. That is more honest than beginning work that would lead nowhere.

And if the situation is urgent, do not wait for my reply: ERAN answers 24/7 on 1201, and 101 is the medical emergency number.
